United States Paper Money of the Week: Internet Currency Session Abounds With Further Bidding Opportunities in March Auction

Our March 15, 2013 (commencing 5:00 P.M. ET) paper money session at Baltimore will be in progress as this newsletter crosses your computer. Hundreds of notes and approximately $2 million will have changed hands as eager collectors augmented their collections.

However, the sale will be far from over, as closing on Tuesday March 19, 2013 at 3:00 P.M. PST will be our finest, most diverse Internet Only offering (Session 8, lots 9011-9392) of paper currency. Featured will be hundreds of quality notes from colonial times to our present Small Size genre,

Sixty-three Colonial and Continental Currency lots include notes from most colonies and from several old collections. Noteworthy are choice Georgia notes lot 9009 and lot 9010 and further selections from the William Hardin Collection of New Jersey colonial currency.

Obsolete notes and proofs include many high quality pieces from old collections with their core notes sold in the public session. A gorgeous full color Western Bank, Philadelphia $10, lot 9099, has already seen spirited pre-bidding. Further Rhode Island proof rarities are also offered within this superior Internet session.

Federal type, Large and Small is also well represented. Collector grade, certified notes are abundant and include scarce Small Size stars and mules from the Thomas Vandenbosch Collection. Lot 9311 is a GEM PCGS 66 $1 HAWAII, always a collector favorite. The 392 lots should offer enough variety for every collector’s taste.
