The Stack’s Bowers and Ponterio
November Baltimore Auction Main World Coin Sessions are now closed, after an
intense two days of bidding, but there is still time to own a piece of this
astounding sale. The Internet Session for World Coins, Session D, runs now through
Tuesday November 12th and ends promptly at 3:00 PM PT. A plethora of Ancient
and World coins comprise this session and many hidden treasures await!
The first group within Session D
is the Ancient coin grouping with over 50 various Greek, Roman Republic, some
Roman Empire, and Byzantine pieces. Pieces of note include Lot 23016, an Ancient
Judean coin struck during the notorious Bar Kochba Revolt. This Bronze piece
has an attractive desert green patina, and is in excellent condition when you
consider the history it must have seen! Another Ancient coin with a story to
tell is Lot 23035, a Roman
Republican Silver Denarius. The reverse design displays a building known as the
Villa Publica, a building which has not survived to the present day. The detail
is impeccable, and would greatly complement a numismatic or architectural
collection.
The World coins in this session
number over 600! With an enormous variety of countries offering coins and
medals, you are sure to find pieces to your liking. Lot 23212 is a lovely
French medal commemorating the Paris Universal Exposition in 1899 and displays
the newly completed Eiffel Tower. This piece shows exquisite detail and is
Uncirculated. A Choice 1913 Canadian Cent is Lot 23112, graded an
astonishing MS 65 plus Red-Brown by PCGS. This high quality piece is just one
of a fantastic run of Canadian coins in this session, so be sure to check them
out. The Mexican coin section of the Internet Session is massive, with 136
coins and medals and they start with Lot 23411. With such a
large swath of Mexican numismatics present in this session, there’s certainly
something for everyone! Head on over to our website and browse hundreds of item
images captured by our expert team of photographers and graphic designers. Time
is of the essence as these internet sessions close promptly at 3:00 PM PST on
Tuesday November 12th.
Pre-bidding has begun for these
coins and medals, so be sure to head over to the Session D listing and place
your bids! While our Stack’s Bowers and Ponterio November Baltimore sale is
closed for further consignments, we are currently taking consignments of world
and ancient coins for our January New York International, and April 2014 Hong
Kong sales. If you are interested in consigning your coins and paper currency
